The Parone Wedding

Ashley and Paul met one night through mutual friends. Ashley was working at a local restaurant when one of her coworkers asked her to go bowling after work with a few mutual friends. That night we all bowled and had a good time. Ashley didn’t really like Paul all that much since he beat her every time they bowled and she is very competitive. A few weeks later they ran into each other at a mutual friend’s party and sparks flew. The rest as the say is history.

It was Christmas time in 2001 and Ashley & Paul had been dating for a few months. They decided to celebrate the holiday at Downtown Disney before Paul headed home to Tampa for Christmas. As they were walking around Downtown Disney after hours with the cold air and bright lights in the background they decided to goof around and play in the Lego land since all of the kids had left. As they were running around in the cold night playing like children they both had a moment in the Lego house where they looked into each others eyes and they both knew that they were in love.

Since both Paul and Ashley had always said that they fell in love that night at Downtown Disney, Paul had decided to recreate the night that they fell in love. It was Christmas time again in 2006 and Paul told Ashley that they were taking a trip to Tampa to spend the holidays with his family in Tampa. On the way to Tampa Paul pulled over to use the restroom. To Ashley’s surprise he pulled over in Epcot at Walt Disney World. Paul told Ashley that he wanted to take her to lunch before they got to Tampa. Paul knowing Ashley so well knew that Ashley would say that she wanted to eat at France inside Epcot. Once they arrived Paul asked Ashley where she wanted to go, of course she said France! Once they were at the Les Chefs de France, Ashley was surprised to find out that Paul had made reservations for them knowing that she would pick that as her favorite place to go.

After lunch they walked back to the car to finally head to Tampa. They drove for a few minutes and Paul pretended to be lost about how to get back to the interstate. Paul then pulled into a hotel at Disney and parked. He then told Ashley that he was planning on surprising her and rented a villa at the Key West Hotel at Disney. He said that they were going to stay at the hotel for the night and then head to Tampa. He also told her that they had reservations at Wolfgang Pucks for dinner. When they left the hotel they took a private ferry to downtown Disney from the hotel. Ashley and Paul ate dinner and then walked around with Paul trying to recreate the night we knew. After dinner they went to Ghirardelli for ice cream (it wasn’t cold like the first time). Then once it was really late and most people were gone to Paul’s surprise Ashley mentioned the Lego house and walked right into it and sat down. Paul was relieved since he had been plotting in his mind how to get her in there. Ashley and Paul had done some last minute shopping while walking around. As they went into the Lego house Paul pretended to put down their shopping bags as he got down on one knee and asked Ashley to marry him. Ashley said “of course” not realizing that Paul was serious. Then she saw the ring and realized that he was serious. Ashley started crying and then said yes.
